Boston, MA
Join YaleWomen for one of greater Boston’s beloved traditions, free Shakespeare on the Common. Director Allegra Libonati brings Verona’s most famous feuding families to Boston in a free performance of Romeo and Juliet presented by the Commonwealth Shakespeare Company. Marianna Krejci-Papa, PhD ’96, will give an informal pre-show review of Shakespeare’s source material for the Romeo and Juliet story complete with fun facts on stage history. Bring your own lawn chair and picnic supper (concessions from Earl of Sandwich and Ben & Jerry's available on site) and enjoy a summer evening of theater and camaraderie! Meeting Location: The Parkman Bandstand area of the Boston Common, between the Bandstand and the outdoor stage. Look for the “YWB” sign. Public Transportation: The nearest T stops are Park Street (Green or Red Lines) or Arlington (Green Line). Parking: Public parking is available in the Boston Common garage. Enter from Charles Street. On street parking is limited. Note: After the performance, it can take a while to exit the parking facility due to the crowds.
