MFA exhibitions and website

The School of Art’s exhibition schedule for the Spring 2023 semester includes the annual MFA thesis exhibitions featuring work from all 2023 MFA degree candidates across the school’s four departments: painting/printmaking, sculpture, photography, and graphic design. Members of the public are invited into the school’s Green Hall Gallery at 1156 Chapel Street, for our public receptions taking place on March 10, March 31, April 14, and April 29, 6–8pm. During regular operating hours, the gallery is open only to the Yale community and accompanied guests.

Members of the public are also invited to visit a new thesis exhibition website containing the most up-to-date information on the 2023 thesis exhibitions. Information and images will be added throughout coming months to this website, where you can learn more about the artists and designers that make up the class of 2023.

Student studios open to the public

The School of Art will host its annual graduate open studios on April 15 and 16 from 12 noon to 6 p.m. Featuring work from the Departments of Graphic Design, Painting/Printmaking, Photography, and Sculpture, open studios offers the public the opportunity to witness firsthand the working processes of the students at the School of Art. Open studios will be located across three buildings on Yale’s campus in downtown New Haven: 1156 Chapel Street, 353 Crown Street, and 36 Edgewood Avenue. Members of the public are also invited to view the 2023 Photography MFA Thesis Show, which will be installed in Green Hall Gallery at 1156 Chapel Street.
