Congratulations to the Yale School of Art faculty and alums named as 2025 Guggenheim Fellows! Tommy Kha ’13MFA (critic in undergraduate photography), Marzena Abrahamik ’13MFA, Farah Al Qasimi ’12, ’17MFA, Katarina Burin ’02MFA, Sara Cwynar ’16MFA, Eli Durst ’16MFA, and Azza El Siddique ’19MFA were among the 198 individuals selected across 53 disciplines for the 100th class of Guggenheim Fellows, announced in April by the John Simon Guggenheim Memorial Foundation.

A new community art space

Over 150 people came out to celebrate the inaugural exhibition at 63 Audubon, a new community art space managed by the School of Art in collaboration with the School of Management. For the first exhibition in the space, Origins, organizers worked with community partners along Audubon Street to collectively curate an exhibition of works by local New Haven artists.

Over 70 local New Haven–based artists responded to the open call, from which ten artists were selected by the curatorial advisory committee made up of representatives from the organizing institutions: Community Foundation for Greater New Haven, Arts Council of Greater New Haven, Neighborhood Music School, Creative Arts Workshop, the Ely Center for Contemporary Art, the Center for Inclusive Growth, ACES Educational Center for the Arts, the Yale School of Art, and the School of Management.

Origins Part II was on view throughout June, and we hope to continue to use the space as a site of community activation. To stay up to date, follow 63 Audubon on Instagram at @63audubon.
