Italian artist’s works on display
The school’s 32 Edgewood Gallery is the venue for an exhibition of some 30 paintings by Italian artist Francesco Clemente (b. 1952), made between 2006 and 2008 over the course of several extended trips to Brazil. This is the first substantial, integrated ensemble of these works to be shown in the Americas. Included are 12 works on canvas and 18 works on paper, drawn from a large body of work in which Clemente explored images and themes that had been central to his art for many years, as well as ideas and iconography indigenous to Brazil. Clemente>Brazil>Yale is on view through June 2.
