Stiles head concludes term
Head of Ezra Stiles College Steve Pitti announced in November, after serving as Stiles’s head for over 11 years, that he would conclude his term in June 2020 but continue his teaching, research, and other administrative duties as member of the faculty. In addition to being a professor of history and of American studies, Pitti is the director of the Center for the Study of Race, Indigeneity and Transnational Migration. The center, together with similar centers at Brown University, the University of Chicago, and Stanford University, received a $4 million grant in January from the Andrew W. Mellon Foundation to launch a series of programs that center on questions of race in humanities teaching and scholarship.
