YDS dean Greg Sterling was the featured guest in the 50th episode of the Divinity School’s podcast series—the Quadcast. In the special milestone episode, Sterling and series founder/host Emily Judd ’19MAR explored ecotheology, the future of theological education, and the problem of political polarization. “As a Christian,” Sterling said, “I’m very worried that we’re going to end up with all red churches and all blue churches instead of having churches that are purple.” The episode can be found on SoundCloud or Apple Podcasts and in the news area of the YDS website.
Stewarding water with theologically driven care, commitment
In constructing its regenerative residence hall—the Living Village, scheduled to open next summer—the Divinity School is attending to the building’s hydrologic cycle with a level of care and commitment driven by the theological and ecological significance of water. In an article for YDS media, religion writer Kim Lawton explores how the project uses sustainable methods for meeting future residents’ water needs while treating and reusing wastewater for uses including the irrigation of the village’s abundant plant life.
