Theater season showcases student talent

David Geffen School of Drama will present a season of three productions entirely created by professionals-in-training at the school. These plays are also the thesis productions of the fourth-year directors who will receive their MFAs in May. The season opens October 22–28 with Henrik Ibsen’s Ghosts, translated by Paul Walsh (faculty) and directed by Jacob Basri ’23. James Fleming ’23 will stage the Pulitzer Prize–winning musical Next to Normal by Brian Yorkey and Tom Kitt, December 10–16. The season continues January 21–27 with Marys Seacole by Pulitzer Prize winner Jackie SibbliesDrury (faculty), directed by Leyla Levi ’23. Later in the spring, the school will present the Carlotta Festival of New Plays, new work written by playwrights from the graduating class.
