Alumna appointed assistant dean / general manager

Carla L. Jackson ’99MFA has been appointed assistant dean/general manager and assistant professor adjunct of theater management at the David Geffen School of Drama at Yale / Yale Repertory Theatre. Most recently, Carla served as audience services manager at the Yale Schwarzman Center. She holds a BA summa cum laude in drama and an MS in marketing intelligence from Fordham University, and she earned her MFA from the DGSD theater management program in 1999. 

Early in her career, she worked with Yale faculty member and producer Benjamin Mordecai III to bring August Wilson’s plays to Broadway, and more recently she managed the August Wilson Monologue Competition at Center Theatre Group. Having begun her career in academic administration at Austin Community College, Carla subsequently returned to Fordham, where she spent seven years as the theater administrator, supporting students from recruitment through post-graduation. She also managed theater and film production for the department. Her own company, Bridging Stories, has produced multiple award-winning films.
