On stage at the drama school

Beginning in October, David Geffen School of Drama will present a season of fully produced plays created entirely by artists, technicians, and managers in training at the Geffen School. The season will open with Ain’t No Mo’ by Jordan E. Cooper, directed by Kemar Jewel ’25MFA, on stage October 19–25. Alexis Kulani Woodard ’25MFA will stage Metamorphoses by Mary Zimmerman, based on the myths of Ovid, running November 16–22. Juliana Morales Carreño ’25MFA will direct her own translation of Felipe Vergara’s play Kilele. In the spring, the school will present the work of the graduating playwrights in the Carlotta Festival. Those plays, also created entirely by Geffen School students, will be staged in rotating repertory.
