On a quest to give a new meaning to the term “blue state,” we mapped the density of Yale alumni in the 50 states and the District of Columbia. Connecticut, not surprisingly, is the state most tightly packed with Elis, at 367 per 100,000 population. But DC is even Bluer, with 538 alumni per 100,000. The lowest concentration is in Mississippi, where only 4 people in 100,000 are Yalies. The national average is 40 per 100,000.
