But Jim Langford ’95 got into some real muck on May 15, clearing out an irrigation canal in Maui, Hawaii. He was one of 3,360 volunteers around the world who took part in the annual Day of Service organized by the Association of Yale Alumni. For our Day of Service photo contest, alumni sent pictures of volunteers planting trees in Australia, painting a school in DC, and washing a turtle-rescue ambulance in Florida. But this photo by Steve Goldstein ’61, ’62MAT, takes the prize for its palpable down-to-earth quality.
