Haiti Rising Fifty paintings and sculptures by Haitian artists, on loan from Eastern Connecticut State University, are on exhibit to raise donations for Haiti earthquake relief. Through September 17
Seeing Double: Portraits, Copies, and Exhibitions in 1820s London John Scarlett Davis’s 1829 painting Interior of the British Institution, which depicts an art exhibit, incorporates dozens of other paintings. “Seeing Double” examines the practice of sampling other works. It includes many of the images that Davis references, some in multiple media forms. Through September 19
Coffee: The World in Your Cup Artifacts, films, and photographs illuminate the influence of coffee on the environment, human culture, and economies worldwide—from the cultivation, trade, and production of the coffee bean to the effects of caffeine on human health. Through September 19
Italian Paintings from the Richard L. Feigen Collection An exhibit of some 50 paintings from the fourteenth through seventeenth centuries, including work of such masters as Fra Angelico, showcases the Italian collection of Manhattan art dealer and author Richard L. Feigen ’52. Through September 12
