The previous Stiles-Morse party, on the night of October 1 at a local nightclub called Elevate, ended when New Haven police SWAT team members with assault rifles entered the club. One student was tased by police. The police department later said the club was dangerously overcrowded. Five students were charged in the incident. Thirty students have filed complaints with the city, which has promised to investigate.
