For six years, the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) has been giving “Public Recognition Awards” to the college teams whose members do best at staying in school and staying academically eligible. Teams receive the award if their Academic Progress Rate is perfect or in the top ten percent for their sport. Every year so far, Yale has led the nation in number of teams recognized. This year, 23 Bulldog teams out of a possible 29 received the award. Here’s how Yale and the other Ivies have fared over the program’s lifetime.
