Go to president-elect.yale.edu, which is designed, in Salovey’s words, “to gather your suggestions and ideas about how we can, together, build on the momentum of the last 20 years.” Fossil-fuel companies are the target of the latest endowment divestment campaign at Yale. Fossil Free Yale, the local chapter of a national campaign, wants the university to sell any stock it has in the world’s 200 largest oil, gas, and coal companies. The group presented a report to Yale’s Advisory Committee on Investor Responsibility in February. The renovation of Morse and Stiles Colleges was recognized by the American Institute of Architects with one of its 2013 Honor Awards for architecture. The architecture firm KieranTimberlake was cited for preserving the original architecture of Eero Saarinen while adding new underground spaces. Yale President Richard Levin ’74PhD was paid $1.62 million in 2010, according to the Chronicle of Higher Education’s annual salary survey. That’s down slightly from the previous year, when he was the Ivy League’s highest-paid president. In 2010 he was second, behind Columbia’s Lee Bollinger.
