So what could be healthier than the new bike rack that appeared late in August in front of Claire’s Corner Copia, the vegetarian restaurant on Chapel Street? The first of a series of site-specific bike racks planned for New Haven, it was the brainchild of Yale student Ben Green ’14, who spent the summer as an intern in the city’s transportation department. Sculptor Ann Lehman created the rack, and restaurateur Claire Criscuolo happily signed on. No animals were harmed in the process.
