For some alums, it was Au Bon Pain. For others, a bar called Demery’s. If you go back far enough, you may even remember Liggett’s Drug Store. But the current crop of Yalies will know the rounded corner of Broadway and York Street as Patagonia. The outdoor apparel company, which strives to be both profitable and environmentally responsible, opened its Broadway location at the end of August. If you’re worried about the fate of the local outdoor-gear shop Trailblazer, on nearby Elm Street, rest easy: Trailblazer owner Chris Howe is the franchisee for the Patagonia store.
