Appointed

Pinelopi Koujianou Goldberg (left), the Elihu Professor of Economics, has been appointed chief economist for the World Bank. Goldberg, a microeconomist who focuses on developing countries, will guide the bank’s research agenda and development strategy. A member of the Yale faculty since 2001, she will take a public service leave from the university.

Elected

In an election this spring, alumni chose Michael Warren ’90 to serve a six-year term on the university’s board of trustees, the Yale Corporation. Warren is global managing director of Albright Stonebridge Group, a business strategy firm he founded in 2009. He worked for the White House in the Clinton and Obama administrations. He was selected over biochemist David Agard ’75 to succeed Kevin Ryan ’85 on the board.

Stepping Down

School of Management dean Edward Snyder will step down at the end of the 2018–19 academic year. Since he was appointed in 2011, Snyder has overseen the construction of the school’s new headquarters, launched new degree programs, and established the Global Network for Advanced Management, an international network of 32 business schools.
