Founded in 1969—the first year of coeducation at Yale College—the Yale Slavic Chorus was the college’s first women’s vocal ensemble. Since then, hundreds of women on campus have joined the chorus and learned the folk music of Bulgaria, Russia, Ukraine, Georgia, and other regions. To celebrate the chorus’s 50th anniversary, more than 120 alumnae and current members got together on campus in April for a weekend of rehearsing and reconnecting. The reunion culminated in the concert in Battell Chapel shown here.
