Dan Williamson ’23 (left) rowed for the New Zealand team that won the men’s eight race, and Ollie Wynne-Griffith ’17 (center) and Charlie Elwes ’19 (right) won bronze medals as members of Great Britain’s team in the same race. Yale’s Olympians competed in five sports and represented ten countries. Also, Yale’s head fencing coach Haibin Wang, himself a two-time Olympic medalist, oversaw the Chinese fencers as president of the China Fencing Association.
