View full imagePeople don’t tend to go to divinity school to get rich. But the Yale Divinity School would like to see its students carry less debt when they graduate. Thanks to recent fundraising efforts, the school announced in January that it will cover full tuition costs and fees for new and returning students with demonstrated need, beginning this fall. Dean Gregory Sterling noted, when he announced the new policy, that students’ living expenses are the single greatest source of student debt—and that the school wants to raise still more to solve that problem.
