Starting with a bash

For the first time since the pandemic, the Bulldog Bash kicks off the semester.

Since 1993, Yalies have enjoyed an annual Spring Fling concert on Old Campus. Now there’s a fall counterpart. The Bulldog Bash, sponsored by the Yale College dean’s office, the Schwarzman Center, and Yale Hospitality, brings food and entertainment to Old Campus the weekend before classes begin. The Bash was held in 2018 and 2019, then scrapped for two pandemic years before returning on August 27. This year’s Bash featured food and music from the Latin American diaspora. Among the performers were the dancers and drummers of Batalá New York, an all-women, Black-led, Afrocentric percussion ensemble.
