• Just four weeks after fall classes began, Yale lifted its mask requirement in classes and on shuttle buses. Instructors, though, still have the authority to require masks in their classrooms. And masks are still required in health-care settings and for people who are experiencing symptoms, have tested positive for COVID, or have been exposed to someone who tested positive.

• Yale is encouraging faculty, students, and staff to get the new bivalent vaccine booster shots.

• The community COVID-19 level in New Haven County in early October remained at Medium.
