Light & VerityRave ReviewTop honors for a Yale magazine. Yale OPACView full imageWe’re big fans of magazines, as you might imagine, and we’re especially fond of the quarterly Yale Review, the university-based cultural and literary magazine whose roots go back 205 years. So it’s a pleasure to report that on April 2, the Review won the 2024 National Magazine Award for general excellence in the literature, science, and politics category. (The other nominees were The American Scholar, Mother Jones, Oxford American, and Rest of World.) Presented by the American Society of Magazine Editors, the awards are the most prestigious in magazine journalism. Editor Meghan O’Rourke ’97 told YaleNews that getting a nomination was part of her five-year plan when she took over in 2019. Winning, she said, “really was the icing on the cake.”
