Time is on their side

In April, when Time magazine released its annual Time 100 list of the year’s most
influential people, two Yale scientists made the list: immunologist Akiko Iwasaki of the School of Medicine and astronomy professor Priyamvada Natarajan. Anthony Fauci wrote for Time that Iwasaki’s “expertise in innate immunity—or how the immune system first reacts to pathogens—is providing key insights into Long COVID.” And Natarajan was cited for her theory about the origins of supermassive black holes; fellow astrophysicist Shep Doeleman wrote that he is “always inspired by her work” and that her work on black holes “takes us one step closer to understanding our cosmic beginnings.”
