Buck, whose vast range of subjects has included Cindy Sherman, Tom Hanks, and Barack Obama, has now shot ten covers for the Yale Alumni Magazine over the last four years. “Every shoot we do, I try to really outdo what we’ve done last,” says photographer Buck on his collaborations with YAM art director Jeanine Dunn. Why portraits? “When I was in high school, I found that I could connect with people with a camera,” says Buck. “I could interact with the cool kids. It’s a way to connect with people and places.”
