Ward, an accomplished pianist and a professor of philosophy, Arabic, and German Studies at Duke University, died on Dec. 14, 2013, after a four-year battle with colon cancer. From 1973 to 1980, he taught philosophy and served as dean of Berkeley College at Yale, his alma mater. He departed New Haven for Durham in the fall of 1980. A full obituary was published in the New Haven Register on Dec. 18, 2013. |
