Glenn Wetherby Preston died December 28, 2013, in Rancho Santa Fe, California. After earning his master's in physics at Yale, he spent a 30-year career in electronics working in or consulting for several high-tech companies and scientific organizations.

An obituary was published in the Rancho Santa Fe Review on February 6, 2014.
