After working as a reporter for the New Haven Register and attending law school, he spent a career litigating complex commercial cases in state and federal cases across the United States. In the mid-1980s, he led a delegation of Yale Law School professors to China to lecture on legal issues and promote understanding of the U.S. legal system.
