ObituariesIn Remembrance: John Seashore Died on December 5 2014John Seashore, 75, passed away at Yale-New Haven Hospital on December 5, 2014. He worked at Yale New Haven Hospital and at Hôpital Albert Schweitzer Haiti in Haiti, and taught at both the University of Florida and Yale University. He received the Pediatric Faculty Teaching Award and the Distinguished Service Award from Yale in honor of his 31-year career at Yale University School of Medicine's Department of Surgery. His obituary was published in The New Haven Register on December 14, 2014. |

Today is my son's, (James Michael Nelson Jr), 37th birthday! If not for God and this wonderful instrument (Dr John Seashore) it would not be possible! I will forever be in his gratitude for all he did for my son and us, his parents. We got to watch him grow into a healthy happy and wonderful man! He has a beautiful wife and 2 beautiful daughters! I feel truly blessed! I wish we had been able to make a trip there so they could meet! There will never be a greater man in my son's life! My son was born with Hirschsprungs Disease and I was just a child myself. We were stationed there in the USMC and had no family or friends with us for 2 very long surgeries. Dr Seashore kept us informed, calm and reassured. He was the best! That is a wonderful and caring hospital! Anyone going through this, please know that you are in good hands and you will get through it! As Dr Seashore would tell you when you leave the hospital, just take him home and love him. The best advice ever! You will never be forgotten Dr Seashore! We love you to the moon and back!
