In Remembrance: Daniel Fine '45, '50MD Died on August 23 2015

Dr. Daniel "Dan" Fine died of kidney cancer in his home of New Kensington, PA, on Sunday, August 23, 2015. Between his undergraduate and medical school years, he served in the U.S. Navy during World War II. He later became known for his active participation in a variety of social movements, such as those concerning equal opportunities for women, civil rights, and the anti-war movement.

According to a Harvard Crimson article from 1953, Dr. Fine declined to testify before Harold H. Velde's House Un-American Activities Committee regarding his alleged Communist ties.
