Not long afterward he combined his interests in computers and linguistics when developing the first generation of machines that could talk. He eventually founded his own company, Bhimani Research Corporation, based in Massachusetts, which fulfilled contracts with the federal government. He spent his later years in Los Angeles pursuing a variety of interests. After surviving his wife of 53 years he moved back to his first home in the US, New York, to be close to his son. He died three blocks away from Columbia University, where his American journey began. He always credited Yale with making his American dream possible and never ceased to express his gratitude to the university. —Submitted by the family. |
