In Remembrance: Richard W. Moll ’61MDiv Died on May 24 2017

Richard W. Moll, 83, passed away on May 24, 2017.  He was the director of admissions at Bowdoin from 1967 to 1975.  Later, while at Vassar, he was a central figure in developing the “Common App.”  He was the director of admissions at University of California–Santa Cruz from 1980 to 1985.  Afterwards, he returned to Vassar as executive director of admissions.  His essays appeared frequently in the New York Times, Change, and other publications.  He also wrote books about college admissions.  As an octogenarian, he competed in the 50m and 100m freestyle at the Gay Games in 2014.  His marriage to his husband, Wallace Pinfold, was reported in the pages of the New York Times.
