In Remembrance: William Warfel ’55, ’57MFA Died on May 28 2017

William Warfel passed away on May 28, 2017, in Wallingford, Connecticut, at the age of 84. He worked as a technical adviser for Century Lighting in New York, during which time he worked on several projects for the New York World's Fair, including the special effects lighting for the iconic Unisphere.  Later, he became chairman of the design department at the Yale School of Drama.  During this time, he wrote two textbooks on theater lighting, which are still widely read today.
