In Remembrance: Sidney Feuerstein ’45MD Died on June 14 2017

Dr. Sidney Feuerstein ’45MD, 96, passed away on June 14, 2017.  He was a surgeon and Professor of Medicine at Mount Sinai Hospital and Medical School for over 60 years.

The obituary was carried in the New York Times on June 15, 2017.

    Dr. Feurerstein saved my life as a young boy. I was very ill and none of the local doctors in NJ knew what was wrong with me, as I continued to lose weight and my pallor worsened. My Dad was doing advertising work for Bill Levitt...the founder of Levittown at the time...and Bill Levitt referred us to Dr. Feurerstein.
    Dr. Feurerstein took one look at me, touched my neck, and said, "This boy needs his tonsils removed."
    He removed my tonsils and I immediately improved. Now 55 years later, I am still grateful to this great man.
