In Remembrance: Richard Gundry Jennings, Jr. ’45W Died on August 7 2017

Richard Gundry Jennings, Jr. hailed from Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. He had a secure future with his family's oil business, but instead chose to go down his own path. After serving with the U.S. Army in the Philippines during World War II, he went to North Carolina to start a mink farm and a trout farm. He was pivotal in establishing a community center in the heart of Cashiers, North Carolina, where people could convene, share ideas, and consider various educational paths for their children. Richard was known for his passionate attitude towards the issues he believed in.
