In Remembrance: Bayard K. Sweeney III ’60 Died on January 2 2018

Bayard K. “Barry” Sweeney III passed away on January 2, 2018, in Denver, Colorado. His career was spent in the automotive industry and in related manufacturing. 

The Denver Post carried a full obituary on January 4, 2018.

    I just ran across an obituary for Barry in the Yale Alumni website and am saddened to read of his passing. I'll always remember Barry as a friend and as THE great rock and roll enthusiast of our dorm our freshman year (1956-57) at Yale. He was a great guy and we were sorry when he left to return to Colorado. Around l969 I was out of the Army and working for IBM in Santa Barbara CA when I was sent to a class in Denver. All those year later I remembered Barry fondly and tracked him down through the phone book and went to his home for a visit one evening. He was delighted that I came so he could confirm to Georgia and his kids that his ancient stories about Yale and rock and roll were true. I have not had any contact with Barry since then but I'm sure he was a wonderful husband and father who will be sorely missed by all his family.
