He spent his entire career at Yale Divinity School, rising from instructor to professor and retiring in 1993. His scholarship focused on Roman Catholicism and the Lutheran–Roman Catholic dialogue, and on postliberal theology. The dean of Yale Divinity School, Gregory Sterling, published a tribute on the school's webpage on January 19, 2018. |
