In Remembrance: Jonathan Hess ’87 Died on April 9 2018

Jonathan M. Hess died suddenly of an aneurysm on April 9, 2018. He had been the Moses M. and Hannah L. Malkin Distinguished Professor of Jewish History and Culture and chair of the Department of Germanic and Slavic Languages and Literatures at the University of North Carolina–Chapel Hill, and also was the director of the Carolina Center for Jewish Studies.

UNC's Daily Tar Heel posted a tribute on April 11, 2018, and the New York Times carried an obituary on April 12, 2018.
