In Remembrance: John Maguire ’56BD ’60PhD Died on October 26 2018

John Maguire passed away on October 26, 2018. Receiving both his Bachelor of Divinity and doctorate in theology and psychiatry from Yale University, Maguire used his academic background as Claremont Graduate University's President Emeritus to "break initiatives on race and democracy." Maguire was an also an accomplished scholar: awarded the Fulbright Lifetime Achievement Medal from Edinburgh University, as well as honorary degrees from Washington and Lee University and Transylvania University in 1979 and 1990, respectively.
