In Remembrance: James K. Echols ’89PhD Died on December 23 2018

Rev. James Kenneth Echols died on December 23, 2018, in his Philadelphia home. He was 67. A noted expert in the history of American Christianity and in the life of Martin Luther King, Echols was the first African American to serve as president of a North American Lutheran seminary and the first academic dean of Philadelphia's Lutheran Theological Seminary.
