He served on the Yale faculty as clinical professor of neurology (anesthesiology). His career was devoted to the diagnosis and treatment of pain. He is survived by his wife, Sheila; his brother Robert ’61MD; his son and daughter-in-law (Ethan and Elizaveta); and three grandchildren (Alexandra, Ephraim, and Jeremy). —Submitted by the family. |

Dr. Taub was my doctor from July 1984 until he retired after his quadruple bypass surgery 30 years later. I was 26 when I first walked through his door. He once said we were growing old together. He was funny like that. I was without hope when I met him while suffering from debilitating migraines 5 days a week. After 6 months I was having 2 migraines a week. I could function with 5 good days a week. Dr. Taub gave me my life back.He allowed me to live a full life. Do you actually know what that means? And to top it off, he was to most compassionate doctor I have ever gone to. He was so kind, always. I will never forget him and what he did for me. He was one of a kind. It was really hard to say goodbye to him. It is my hope that someday we will meet again.
