In Remembrance: Stanley F. Weiner ’45W Died on October 9 2019

Stanley F. Weiner died on October 9, 2019, in Avon, Connecticut. Stan attended Yale for only one year but made his mark on the football field where he was the first freshman to score a varsity touchdown in the Yale Bowl in 1942. During the war Stan also attended the United States Coast Guard Academy and then graduated from Columbia University.

He was a certified public accountant in private practice in West Hartford, Connecticut, for many years. Stan was an avid golfer (who made a hole-in-one twice) and was also an accomplished bridge player. Later in life he was inducted into the Greater Hartford Jewish Athletes Hall of Fame. Stan raised two daughters with his wife of 72 years, Esther, who survived him by only ten days.
