ObituariesIn Remembrance: John D. Widdemer ’55 Died on April 10 2020John D. Widdemer passed away on April 10, 2020. Born in New York City in April of 1933 to Kenneth D. and Mabel Cleland Widdemer, he was a graduate of Bronxville, New York, High School and Yale University. Upon graduation from Yale he served as a first lieutenant in the US Army based in Germany. Following the army, he joined the family glove business where he used emerging technologies to innovate glove performance and design. He developed many patents, including projects for NASA, the US military, and sporting gloves such as golf and skiing. His involvement in the community included serving as a trustee of the Adirondack Museum (now the Adirondack Experience), the Gloversville Public Library, the Lexington Foundation, and as a member of the Gloversville School Board. His family and friends will miss his great sense of humor, warmth, and unassuming charm. He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Lois; his daughters Pamela (Dallas) Kersey and Susan (Keith) Harrington; his son, John Jr.; and his granddaughters Anne Kokemor and Kate Harrington.
