In Remembrance: Harald W. Ingholt ’52 Died on February 7 2021

Harald Woolverton Ingholt, 90, of Kennebunkport, Maine, passed away on Sunday, February 7, 2021, at home.  He is survived by his wife, Susan Hamilton Ingholt, daughter Nancy Evans, son Paul Ingholt, and sister, Mary E. Underdown.

He was born on January 10, 1931, to Harald and Janet Ingholt in Mt. Vernon, New York.  He graduated from Yale University in 1952 (Pierson College), enlisted in the Air Force, and married Marilyn Smith in 1958.  He was a decorated USAF intelligence officer, serving two tours in Vietnam, and retiring in 1982 as a colonel.  He moved to Phoenix, Arizona, to work for Loral/Goodyear Aerospace before retiring completely in 1994.

Harry and Marilyn enjoyed church, traveling, and visits with family before she succumbed to Alzheimer’s in 2016. The following year, he attended his 65th college reunion in New Haven and reconnected with many old friends, including Susan Hamilton MacCachran, also widowed. That relationship bloomed into romance and they married in 2018 and settled in Sue’s hometown of Kennebunkport, Maine.
