In Remembrance: William W. N. McLeod ’51 Died on March 27 2022

William W. N. McLeod of Honesdale, Pennsylvania, late of Lake Forest, Illinois, died on March 27, 2022.

He had served in the US army before entering Yale. After 35 years with Sears, he retired in 1986. Beyond sailing, sculling, and swimming in retirement, perhaps his greatest joy was in volunteering with the Executive Services Corps of Chicago, a group of largely retired senior- and middle-management men and women who provide management and governance consulting services to Chicago-area nonprofits, schools, and government. Beyond serving on the board of directors, he acted as consultant and engagement manager on client assignments and, for ESC itself, in aspects of volunteer management, during more than 22 years and over 17,000 hours. From this Bill derived what he called “psychological income.”  He and his late wife are survived by their son, daughter, and grandson.

Interment was at Lake Forest Cemetery.
