In Remembrance: Carl Neisser ’50 Died on March 8 2023

Carl Neisser, a proud alumnus of Yale University and grandson of Nathan Glicksman (Class of 1891), passed away on March 8, 2023, at the age of 96-1/2. He was a child of the Jazz Age and a veteran of World War II who took advantage of the GI Bill to earn his degree in 1950, the largest graduating class in Yale's history. Carl was a marketing and sales manager at Beckman Instruments before becoming a successful marketing consultant and connector of professionals to cultural and civic nonprofits.

Beyond his business career, as a resident of Newport Beach, California, Carl was an enthusiastic supporter of the arts and served on the boards of the Newport Harbor Art Museum, South Coast Repertory Theater, and the Seneca Family of Agencies. He was celebrated for his remarkable ability to remember the activities and interests of others and for making them the center of countless breakfast and lunch conversations. Carl's insatiable thirst for knowledge and his passion for connecting with others embodied kindness, generosity, and inclusivity, which he shared with his friends and admirers who spanned the political spectrum.

Carl was preceded in death by his wife Pat, his brother Ed ’52 and sister-in-law Judy, and Queen Elizabeth II. He is survived by his three sons: Rick ’73, Ken ’75 (Winifred), and Drew (Linda), as well as four grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. The family suggests donations to the Seneca Family of Agencies or a favorite nonprofit to honor Carl's memory.
