In Remembrance: Wilbur R. Greenwood III Died on June 12 2026

Wilbur “Bill” Rowe Greenwood III passed away on June 12, 2026. He was 85. 

At Yale Bill was a member of Fence and lived in Pierson College. He played varsity squash for three years and was a member of two Collegiate Squash Association national championship teams, in 1961 and 1962. He received his commission in the Navy upon graduation day in 1963 and served in the 6th Fleet onboard the USS Boston which was the Navy’s first guided missile cruiser. He then attended business school at Cornell and went on to a career in finance. He was the president of two companies, Spider Staging and Windswept Capital in Seattle, Washington. He loved literature, sports, travel, his family, and—Yale! He is survived by his wife Pamela; his children Trevor and Jennifer; four grandchildren; and his brothers, Mike and John.

A memorial service will take place on July 19, 2026, at Bar Cantinetta in Seattle, Washington, with a reception to follow.
