In Remembrance: Dennis Cordell ’68 Died on October 16 2013

Dennis Cordell died on October 16, 2013. After graduating from Yale College, he immediately joined the Peace Corps and served in Chad, wher he worked on health education and water projects. He later earned his Ph.D. in African History from University of Wisconsin in 1977. He was fluent in French and Arabic, and joined the Southern Methodist University's history faculty, specializing in comparative world history with a focus on Sub-Saharan Africa as well as North Africa, the Middle East, African demography and social history, and the African slave trade and migration.

The Dallas Morning News published his obituary on October 22, 2013.
