Thesis exhibitions go digital

The School of Art’s exhibition schedule for the spring 2021 semester includes thesis exhibitions in all four graduate areas of study, alongside an undergraduate thesis project show. Because gallery visitation is limited in keeping with the university’s COVID requirements, extensive digital resources, including photo documentation as well as virtual walkthroughs, will be made available for all spring 2021 exhibitions. Visit art.yale.edu/exhibitions for news on these resources as they become available. The undergraduate and MFA thesis shows postponed in the spring of 2020 due to COVID will also be held in EIK at 32 Edgewood Avenue in tandem with the 2021 schedule. 

Recent alums recognized for their work

Recent School of Art alum Dominic Chambers ’19MFA (painting/printmaking) was recognized as one of Forbes’s 2021 “30 Under 30” in the category of “Art & Style,” for his “large-scale scenes that depict Black men and women in leisure and contemplation.” Likewise, Natalie Ball ’18MFA (painting/printmaking) was selected by the Ford Family Foundation as a 2020 Hallie Ford Fellow in the Visual Arts—a program which recognizes Oregon visual artists whose work “furthers the conversation of contemporary art in the twenty-first century.”
